The statistics for children in foster care are staggering. Here are a few: Foster youth are seven times more likely than non-foster youth to experience depression and five times more likely to deal with anxiety. Only 55% of kids in the foster care system graduated from high school in 2020. One out of every five people who age out of the system lack a home when they turn 18.

We could go on, but please consider that behind each statistic is a child—a child that may well appear to be invisible to us.
